Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Wrockwardine Wood Infant School & Nursery and Oakengates Nursery School, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. Every child deserves to feel loved, valued, safe and accepted for who they are.
Our approach reflects our federation motto, Love, Laugh, Learn. We help children understand their feelings, develop positive relationships and build the confidence and resilience they need to flourish.
Our whole-school approach
Our Mental Health Lead

Mrs Jenny Gascoigne, Executive Headteacher, is our federation's Mental Health Lead and a Youth Mental Health First Aider. She leads our work to promote positive mental health and ensure children's emotional wellbeing remains a priority.
Future in Mind Telford
As part of the Future in Mind Telford initiative, our Mental Health Champion, Mrs McNamee, attends regular training and professional development to strengthen her knowledge and understanding of children's mental health and emotional wellbeing. This helps ensure that our school community benefits from up-to-date information, effective strategies and best practice to support children's emotional health, resilience and wellbeing.
Telford and Wrekin Wellbeing Charter Mark

We are working with Telford & Wrekin's Educational Psychology Service towards the Wellbeing Charter Mark, reflecting on our practice and identifying ways to strengthen wellbeing across our school communities.
