Love, Laugh, Learn
I am delighted to welcome you to our school and nursery. The governors, children, parents, and staff have collectively established a vision statement which is based on our five core values which are:
- We are kind
- We listen to others
- We are gentle
- We work hard
- We are honest
These underpin everything we do and apply to all members of our school community.
We believe the firm foundations we set down through our beliefs, curriculum and teaching will help our children to be successful now and in the future . Our intent is to inspire and motivate our children so they engage with their learning and make excellent progress.
We base our ethos on six principles;
- Children's learning is understood developmentally
- The classroom is a safe base
- Nurture is important for the development of self esteem
- Language is understood as a vital means of communication
- All behaviour is communication
- Transitions are significant in the lives of children
We are committed to understanding each child so they are valued and understood as an individual; academically, socially, emotionally and as a spiritual being.
We never forget that a happy childhood is the right of every child. We believe that play and first hand exploration of the fascinating and diverse world in which they live is a crucial part of a child’s development.
We strive to make a caring community so our children become sensitive to the needs of others; a community in which all members have a sense of fairness and justice and the contribution of each member is valued.
The children are at the heart of everything we do so we have an active and successful ‘Safety Squad’ so children learn about how to stay safe, in school, when they are at home, online or out in the community. The children meet regularly and play an active role in making decisions about our environment as well as contributing to the ethos of our school.
We encourage an open dialogue with parents and welcome feedback positive or not. We have friendly and supportive staff who are on the playground each morning to welcome children and parents. Teachers are always willing to provide a convenient time to talk through any concerns you may have.
If parents wish to talk through any concerns with me they can call the school office and the admin staff will make an appointment as soon as possible.
I’m very pleased to let you know that our school and nursery is part a federation with Oakengates nursery. If you click on the logo above it will take you to Oakengates Nursery website where you can find out more about the school and the full day care facilities that we offer.
If you would like to see Wrockwardine Wood Infant School & Nursery in action please watch the video on the right hand side of this page.
I look forward to speaking with you.
